KOPAC RESIDENCE
Savannah, GA
This gracious southern house is shaded by the Live Oaks of Madison Square in the historic district of Savanah, Georgia. The original house, designed in Greek Revival Style by the renowned Georgia architect, Charles Cluskey, suffered from a clumsy 1960's addition in the courtyard. This was demolished and replaced with a porch-like two story addition that carefully intergrates a modern kitchen, sun room gallery, and bar with the original floor plan. The addition connects the house's entry level with the courtyard garden below. The new construction blends with old for a seamless composition that respects the original genteel character.
